My research interests lie in natural language processing, discourse analysis, and machine learning for language-focused research. More broadly, I am interested in how computational methods can support the study of language, annotation, and variation.

Our workshop, Human Label Variation in Discourse and Pragmatic Phenomena, took place during the second week of ESSLLI 2026 (10–14 Aug) in Prague. I helped with the organization and presented work in progress titled What Counts as a Discourse Unit? Towards Drawing the Boundary Between Annotation Error and Human Label Variation. I attended the LP4G workshop at DFKI Berlin.
I attended LREC 2026 (11–16 May) in Palma, where my co-author Steffen Frenzel presented our paper Computing Semantic Similarity for Aligning Bilingual Semi-parallel Texts: A Case Study at the BUCC workshop.
I started my PhD at the University of Potsdam as part of SFB 1287 Project C11.
Our paper Discourse Segmentation of German Text with Pretrained Language Models was published in JLCL 39(1).
